Suzanne Shelpman Promoted to New Position

Suzanne Shelpman recently was was named the Area Agency on Aging District 7, Inc. (AAA7) Long-Term Care Director. Suzanne began with the AAA7 in 2003 as the agency’s grant writer. She is also a member of AAA7’s Senior Management Team.

Suzanne is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. AAA7 Executive Director Matura said, “With the experience and education Ms. Shelpman has, she was a natural fit as the agency’s Long-Term Care Director. She has embraced this position. She now serves on many state committees, and is extremely involved in her community. The agency is fortunate to have her on staff.”

Ms. Shelpman graduated from Marshall University with a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling and is presently working on her doctorate in Organizational Development and Policy. Suzanne came to the agency from the Scioto County Family and Children First Council where she held the position of Council Coordinator. Previously, she served as Director of Admission and Retention with Shawnee State University. Suzanne has over 28 years of management experience in the rehabilitation field that also includes the Ohio Dept. of Administrative Services, Portsmouth Rehabilitation Services, and the Ohio Industrial Commission’s Rehabilitation Division in care management.
