Jane Ann Burns Names President of the AAA7’S Board of
Trustees

The Area Agency on Aging
District 7 (AAA7) Executive Director Pamela K.
Matura announces that Jane Ann Burns, from Vinton
County, was elected as president of Area Agency on
Aging District 7’s Board of Trustees. The AAA7 Board
of Trustees is the 15-member governing body for the
agency which serves ten counties. The counties are
Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence,
Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton.
Ms. Burns’s career lead her to the Gallipolis State
Institute/Gallipolis Developmental Center where she
held the position as an Activity Therapist and
Director of Volunteer Services. After retiring from
Gallipolis Developmental Center, she continued to
work and joined the staff of the Vinton County
Auditor and Vinton County Engineer’s office as
County Auditor Deputy and Deputy Clerk.
Ms. Burns retired in 2001; however, she has never
stopped serving her community. She is active in the
Athens First Church of God, where she serves on the
Board of Deacons. She also participates in the choir
and Women of Church of God. She presently serves as
treasurer of the Wilkesville Community Center.
Currently, she is the coordinator for the
reenactment of the Morgan's Raiders of 1863 in
Vinton County that will take place on September
6-10th.
Executive Director Matura said, “If you want to get
things done, you ask a busy person, and Jane Ann
Burns is one of the busiest, most productive persons
I know. Her leadership on the board has contributed
to the tremendous continuing growth of our home and
community-based service programs. We currently
case-manage over 3,500 frail, at-risk southern
Ohioans. Ms. Burns is always willing to help and
assist in any way she can.”
