Executive Director Pamela Matura for the Area Agency
on Aging (AAA7) announces that AAA7’s 24th Annual
Senior Citizens Art Show and Essay/Poetry Contest
will be May 15 through May 16. This event is held in
the Greer Museum on the campus of the University of
Rio Grande. The show will be open daily from 10 a.m.
until 2 p.m.
Each year the Area Agency selects art work from its
prior annual art show to appear on the promotional
poster for the following year. The artist selected
for the 2006 poster was Glenetta Moore, 86 years
young. Unfortunately, Ms. Moore died in September
2005. Pictured above on the right representing his
mother is Ms. Moore’s son, Tim O’Kain, along with
Director of Public Relations, Advocacy, and Special
Events Sharon Bowman (AAA7), presenting a
professional framed poster to Ms. Moore’s state
legislator for House District 88, Rep. Danny Bubp.
Rep. Bubp stated, “Thank you. I will take this
wonderful art to my Columbus office and display it
for visitors to enjoy and see.”
Ms. Moore was a resident of Adams County and entered
the AAA7 Art Show each year. For more information
