Sherri Rutherford elected to AAA7 Board of
Trustees

The Area Agency
on Aging District 7, Inc. (AAA7) announces that Sherri
K. Rutherford of Ross County was recently appointed to
the Area Agency on Aging District 7, Inc. Board of
Trustees. Ms. Rutherford has been a member of the
board since 2003. The AAA7 Board of Trustees is a
15-member governing body for the agency and serves
Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence,
Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton Counties.
Ms. Rutherford earned her B.S. in Education from Ohio
University and her J.D. from Capital Law School. As an
elder law attorney and assistant prosecuting attorney
in Ross County, she brings a wealth of energy and
talent to the AAA7 Board of Trustees. Ms. Rutherford
is associated with the National Academy of Elder Law
Attorneys; the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association;
Ross County Senior Abuse Task Force and Senior
Advisory Council; Ohio State Bar Association; Ross
County Bar Association; AARP Legal Services Network
and the Ohio State Bar Association Committee on Elder
Law; Estate Planning, Trusts and Probate Law; and
Unauthorized Practice of Law. Also, Ms. Rutherford has
spoken professionally to many groups in southern Ohio
on a variety of issues that pertain to the senior and
disabled populations and participates in many programs
assisting seniors with legal issues.
The Area Agency on Aging District 7, Inc. (AAA7)
administers programs for older adults funded by the
state and federal governments. Federal funds managed
by the Administration on Aging and the CMS (Center for
Medicare and Medicaid Services), as well as all state
funds, are received through the Ohio Department of
Aging. The Agency contracts with agencies and then
channels funds through this network of service
providers. These agency providers include senior
centers, community action agencies, home health
agencies, health departments, etc.
