The Benefit Bank is
a new initiative Governor Ted Strickland is
supporting to help low and moderate income Ohioans
claim tax credits and public benefits such as; food
and nutrition programs, health care and prescription
drug programs, energy assistance programs and child
care support programs.
It is an
internet-based counselor assisted service designed
to assist people overcome barriers that have
prevented them from taking advantage of programs
that can help strengthen their economic condition.
The counselor guides individuals through an
internet-based program assisting in filling out
applications for programs they are eligible for.
Many individuals and
families are struggling simply because they are not
receiving the benefits that they could. Some feel
they may not be eligible, others get lost in the
complex application process or are unaware the
benefits even exist. The Benefit Bank provides an
easy and efficient way to get benefits to those who
need them most.
The Benefit Bank
screening is available free of charge at the Area
